Re-Write of the Online Course Begins

Tonight, I began the re-design of the site for the upcoming online, interactive study on Effective Prayer. I will also do rewrites on the course materials. With a full-time job and a projected launch date of 1/9/06, it is going to be a busy time.

The online course, in the previous format was limited on an FTP website in too many ways. Moving it to a Forum Board represents a much better opportunity, I believe. The site I am using is listed in the link at the top. Or you can find it here.

I now have the option of cutting the beginning course down into manageable sized pieces. There will doubtless be more lessons, but each lesson should be easier to comprehend, focused on a single topic/theme, and not require so much backround. The support materials can be housed on-site, and will not have to be included in the individual student emails. Chatting may not be nearly as significant to the success of the course, as posting messages with responses will, I believe, clearly show the effectiveness of the course.

I will publicly announce the course on the 9th of January. Whatever is up and clean at that point will be what we begin with. If it is not complete--oh well. It is going to be a productivity-related course, anyway. You must complete "A" before you can access "B". If "A" is all the student sees, then it doesn't matter that "E" isn't in the program yet.

I pray that this is the payoff for Dad, for all the time in development.

The Guestbook is, it seems, the only thing being spammed at the moment. I pray that it will remain that way for this Journal. I am really looking forward to sharing with you the aspects of the course from the developer's perspective. Please pray that God would use my small talent in a mighty way, and let it be true that "little is much, when God is in it!"

This Journal will pick up, as well. I have removed from the site the previous posts that had all the spam embedded in them. You could see comments, and 52 anonymous comments on one entry in one day was kind of intoxicating--for about 30 seconds. By the time I got through all the "five minutes" of fame for each one, however, I was not feeling really Christian about the entire process.

Which brings me, strangely enough, to one of the questions I have been pondering. I would love to hear your take on it. So post a comment, and let me know what you think, ok?

"Is evil necessary?"

Dad:

It's You, and me, except now we are doing website development and Forum hosting! Boy, we sure know how to take a meandering trail, don't we, Dad?

Be in this adventure, too Dad. And let it only be about you. Work in it to Your Glory alone, I sincerely pray. And, if it's possible, stay really close at hand as we begin THIS journey together, too.

I love you too, Dad.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Your kid,

Bud
